Open Channel Flow Meter Manufacturer
Basic Principle
Open Channel flow meters measure level, flow rate and total volume of water flowing through weirs, flumes, channels and partially filled pipes. The flow meters use a non-contact level sensor to detect the water level and then calculate the flow rate and volume using the Manning equation and characteristics of the channel.
AFT96 & AIULS Flow totalizer & Sensor is use to measure Total Flow Consumption & Current Flow of Open Channel Liquid Flow Measurement. AFT96 is 16 Bit Microcontroller Based Instrument which have Universal input 4-20mA & Pulse. AFT96 also Can Measure Open Channel Flow meter for any Parshall Flumes or Weir.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is an Open Channel Flow Meter?
It measures the flow rate, level, and total volume of liquids in open channels, weirs, or flumes using non-contact level sensors.
How does it work?
It detects water level through radar or ultrasonic sensors and calculates flow using the Manning equation or channel geometry.
Which components are used in Aranka’s system?
It combines the AFT96 Flow Totalizer with an AIULS Ultrasonic Level Sensor for accurate flow measurement.
Can it handle extreme environments?
Yes, with weatherproof or flameproof enclosures for harsh outdoor conditions.
What are its main features?
Features include programmable channels, dual relays, temperature compensation, and real-time total and flow display.
What are its key specifications?
It offers 4–20 mA & RS-485 Modbus outputs, operates on 90–260 VAC, and supports -40°C to +70°C with CE & ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Where is it used?
Ideal for wastewater, irrigation, industrial, and environmental monitoring applications.
Is it suitable for dirty water?
Yes, it accurately measures clean, dirty, and slurry-type fluids in open flow channels.
